Statement on the March Employment Report from Oregon AFL-CIO President Tom Chamberlain
"Today's job numbers are a positive sign, and show that the commitment our elected leaders have made to creating jobs and helping those in need is the right approach. But unfortunately last month's job growth merely held the unemployment rate steady. It will take a renewed commitment to our infrastructure and our economy through more aggressive jobs legislation to really turn the tide on unemployment. 15 million Americans are still out of work - unable to provide for their families, pay their bills, or save for their futures. This month's numbers provide some hope for those people, but it's not enough. We look forward to seeing a strengthened commitment to rebuilding our economy, and continuing to see growing job creation numbers."
